McKenna Camille is a recording artist that is hard to put into a box. Her songs reflect her wide range of musical taste with the only constant being the fact they are inspired by her life experiences. Her new single, “Three Way”, will be released August 16th, 2024, on all streaming services. It’s the kind of song that makes you want to roll down your car windows and let the wind blow through your hair while you sing along. In other words, the perfect summer single! I am a fan of McKenna Camille, so I just had to find out a little more about this talented performer.
* When did you first start making music?
I started piano around the age of six, but I started writing songs in their full and complete form during high school.
* What influences have inspired your sound the most?
This is ever changing for me. I think some of my music is heavily inspired by Billie Eilish and Gracie Abrams where other parts of my music are inspired by Sabrina Carpenter or even the Bee Gees. Honestly, I am all over the place.
* Is there a constant meaning or message behind your music?
Yes and no. Every song is different, every project is different, but the one constant is everything I write comes from my real life
* What advice would you give to new artists?
If someone is telling you that you can’t achieve something, that is exactly what you should be striving to achieve.
* What has been your best moment as a musician/band so far?
Performing at Paris fashion week last fall was insane and the coolest opportunity that I’ve had so far.
* What do you like most about playing music?
I love my studio time! I like being able to try new things and mess up and express myself through art.
* What is the hardest part about being a musician?
Managing how other people’s opinions impact you. Not everyone is going to like your music and that’s ok, but sometimes it’s kind of like “awe. darn”.
