Singer/Songwriter Sasha Anne is channeling a “Mean Girls” vibe in her latest single. The track, titled “Burn Book” is an upbeat pop single reflecting on her experiences with all the mean girls she met in school. The personal lyrics talk about how their words can’t hurt her because she’s “been to hell and back”. This single will certainly be a hit with all her fans across the world. Currently, Sasha is working on finishing her upcoming EP due out soon. I recently caught up with her in between her recording sessions to ask about her music career and get some advice for up-and-coming artists.
When did you first start making music?
I first started writing songs when I was 11. But I got serious about my first album in 2020.
What influences have inspired your sound the most?
Miley Cyrus 2007 music, Taylor Swift, Ariana Grande, Selena Gomez and the scene, Sabrina Carpenter, Olivia Rodrigo, Tate McRae, Britney Spears and more.
Is there a constant meaning or message behind your music?
Yes. I always want to tell a story with my music and take my listeners on a journey. But I always want to keep everyone feeling hopeful in the end, happy, and the way they feel during and after listening to their favorite artists, I want them to feel that way when listening to my songs.
What advice would you give to new artists?
It’s extremely competitive with the big labels but keep promoting yourself everywhere. It’s really hard to break through as an artist but keep on at it. Promote a lot on TikTok.

What has been your best moment as a musician/band so far?
When I became a consideration in Best in Rock performance category for the 2024 Grammys for my first original single, “Scars”.
What do you like most about playing music?
It’s so therapeutic and makes me so happy. I love telling my story through music and again taking everyone on a journey and hoping they can relate in some way. My favorite part is being on stage.
What is the hardest part about being a musician?
Getting my music out there and heard by many. Because all the big artists take over right away and take the spotlight away. It’s extremely hard but hopefully soon smaller artists can be heard the same or close to the same amount.
