On Friday, popular Taylor Swift, a ‘Love Story’ hitmaker performed in front of an audience that numbered 96,000 as a part of her “Eras Tour”. This marked another significant achievement in Taylor Swift’s career. The 34-year-old singer took the stage at Melbourne Cricket Ground in Australia on Friday, to the largest Eras Tour crowd of her whole tour to date.
There were more audience members in the venue than at any previous concert, with 96,000 spectators attending the sold-out show. She has already done some incredible gigs, such as playing to a crowd of 74,000 at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey in May.
In a video posted on X, Swift addressed the audience, saying, “This is the biggest show that we have done on this tour or any tour I have ever done,”
“That’s the current version you get of me this evening, the side that’s starstruck by the reality that so many of you guys were keen on hanging out with us on a Friday night in Melbourne,” the actual “Love Story” artist said.
With Friday’s performance, Swift embarked on her first Australian tour since her Reputation tour in 2018. She will also play at the MCG on February 17 and 18, before traveling to Sydney for performances at the Accor Stadium that weekend.
Swift flew from her Eras Tour event in Tokyo on Saturday to see her boyfriend Travis Kelce’s Kansas City Chiefs defeat the San Francisco 49ers in Sunday’s Super Bowl in Las Vegas. Swift will make her Melbourne show following that.
Although they were unable to spend Valentine’s Day together on Wednesday, Swift and Kelce, who hasn’t been spotted in Australia yet, party hard following his big Super Bowl triumph. In Vegas, he did the “most romantic thing” for her.
Celebrating the victory, the NFL player was spotted dancing to Swift’s 2008 hit song “You Belong with Me” at Resorts World’s Zouk nightclub in Sin City. Also, Swift could be heard gushing over the occasion in a charming video that went viral on social media.
The party’s DJ, Drew Taggart of The Chainsmokers, and his girlfriend, model Marianne Fonseca, were shown doing a video chat with the influential couple inside the club.
